Carin Berkowitz Elected To HSS Governing Council

Congratulations to Carin Berkowitz (2009-2010 Dissertation Writing Fellow), who has been elected to the History of Science Society governing Council for 2015-17. Berkowitz is currently director of the Beckman Institute for the History of Chemistry at the Chemical Heritage Foundation. Her book, Charles Bell and the Anatomy of Reform, will be published in fall 2015 with University of Chicago Press. She has also recently published articles in History of Science and the Notes and Records of the Royal Society, entitled “The Surgeon's Seeing Hand: Teaching Anatomy to the Senses in Britain, 1800-1840” and “Priority and Methodological Controversy in Early Nineteenth-Century Anatomy,” respectively.
